Authorised Economic Operator

E-T-A has been accredited as Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), grade AEO-F. The status of an Authorised Economic Operator allows E-T-A to obtain permission for customs procedures, among others in the entire European Union, without customs performing comprehensive inspections on goods imported or exported by or via the AEO.

As soon as a company is approved on behalf of a national customs administration as AEO, this is a mark of quality which has its effect on any customs issues and beyond. Companies approved as AEO are entitled to simplified customs processing, depending on meeting the AEO requirements.

Accreditation is connected to a number of pre-conditions regarding reliability, creditworthiness, former observation of relevant legislation and possibly meeting of certain safety standards. E-T-A is very proud to have obtained this status so soon. Managing Director Dr. Clifford Sell emphasises the importance of this approval for the global activities of E-T-A. “As we are globally operating company, this proof of reliability, issued by the customs administration, is highly important for our business. At a very early stage, we started our preparations to meet the strict requirements connected to this approval and therefore we consider ourselves as a pioneer in this area for medium-sized companies.

Operators can be accredited when they prove to have high-quality internal processes that will prevent goods in international transport to be tampered with. They have to ensure corresponding knowledge and integrity of their employees, to prove a detailed knowledge of relevant customs regulations and to secure access to their premises to prevent unauthorised persons from putting goods in a container. The accreditation of an AEO implies permanent monitoring by the customs administration and corresponding reporting obligations.

The successful accreditation as AEO underlines E-T-A’s ambition to provide superior quality combined with safety and reliability and meet customer’s requirements regarding quick availability and low transport costs.
